Hi there! 👋 I’m Marveli Mateos, the heart (and camera) behind Pictured Marvelous. Whether you’re a returning client, a new visitor, or just someone who loves photography as much as I do welcome to my blog! 🎉

This space is where I’ll be sharing photography tips, behind-the-scenes stories, and everything you need to know about capturing life’s most beautiful moments. But first, let’s start with a little introduction because photography is more than just snapping pictures; it’s about preserving memories that last a lifetime.

📸 How It All Started: My Journey Into Photography

My journey with photography started long before I ever had my own camera. Back in the 2000s, I worked at DreamShots, one of those mall photography studios with the colorful backdrops. I spent my days posing best friends and couples, It was my first experience behind the camera, and looking back, it taught me a lot about working with people, making them feel comfortable, and finding the right angles to bring out their best.

As time went on, photography became more personal. As a mother of four, I found myself constantly reaching for the camera, wanting to hold onto the little moments that pass too quickly. The laughter, the milestones, and even the quiet in-between moments these were the things I never want to forget.

What started as a personal passion turned into something more. I began capturing family sessions which has now expanded into fashion photography, working on editorial shoots, and branding campaigns. This shift allowed me to explore different styles and creative storytelling, blending portrait work with the details that bring a designer’s vision to life.

🎨 My Photography Style: A Blend of Authenticity & Creativity

If I had to describe my photography style in one word, it would be genuine.

Whether I’m capturing families, models, quinceañeras, or brand campaigns, my goal is always the same: to create a comfortable and relaxed experience where real emotions shine through.

✔️ For families – I focus on those real, unscripted moments that capture love and connection.
✔️ For fashion & branding – I bring the designer’s vision to life, ensuring every detail is highlighted in a way that feels both editorial and timeless.
✔️ For special events (like quinceañeras!) – I make sure every laugh, twirl, and teary-eyed moment is beautifully preserved.

I believe that the best images are the ones that make you feel something when you look at them images that tell a story, spark a memory, or capture a moment you never want to forget.

👩‍👧‍👦 A Little More About Me (Beyond the Camera!)

When I’m not behind the lens, you’ll probably find me:

💖 Cheering on my kids at a basketball game, a pageant, or a cheer competition!
📖 Getting lost in a good book (recommendations always welcome! 📚)
🌍 Traveling and soaking in inspiration from new places, people, and cultures.

I’m also a firm believer in lifelong learning. Whether it’s keeping up with the latest photography techniques or refining my editing style, I’m always looking for ways to grow and improve my craft. After all, every client is unique, and I want my work to evolve alongside them!
